Fault Line Theatre: [...] in the Time of Corona

In a time with no theatre, I joined Fault Line Theatre as a performer in round two of their [...] in the Time of Corona series on Instagram. For this project, performers paired up with writers to create a unique monologue through the lens of the ongoing pandemic. I had the absolute honor of teaming up with writer and performer Emily Perkins-Margolin. Our work will be on the

Faultline Theatre instagram page later this fall (2020)!

The Son & the Moon

I had the absolute pleasure of joining John Maddaloni's workshop of his upcoming album, 'The Son and the Moon'. 'A Straight Play' at People's Improv Theater

No Frills Theatre Collective staged S. E. Taylor's "A Straight Play". I played Amelia, a college student who has to come out to her moms as straight in a world where homosexuality is the norm. Hilarity ensues! This farcical play was well received by audiences at the People's Improv Theater last May.

Who run the world? Girls.

I had the absolute pleasure of helping facilitate the 2017 Womens Project Gala at the Edison Ballroom, where Debra Messing accepted her Women of Achievement Award. Several fabulous female artists and friends of WP Theatre were celebrated during this remarkably feminist event.

Kaila teaches theatre to Pre K-12th grade in Tamil Nadu, India

In early September, Kaila traveled to India with Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP), serving as a Volunteer Teaching Artist for students at Shanti Bhavan, a school in Southern India for children in the lowest castes. The children put on performances at the end of a week-long arts camp after Kaila co-taught classes in group storytelling for the young ones and improv/devising for the older students.

"When school starts again, I will allow myself to volunteer for class activities and projects 'cause ASTEP taught me how to be brave and try new things."
